New “Approximation” of NC Butterflies

North Carolina Topographic Regions Map

Many of us eagerly await the annual update of NC butterfly records put together by Harry LeGrand and Tom Howard, and I’m happy to note it just came out.  It’s both an atlas and a species account for butterflies and skippers of North Carolina, but it has terrific information that will be useful throughout the mid-Atlantic.

Harry and Tom call this an “Approximation” but to the rest of us it’s about as comprehensive as a state butterfly book could be.
