Mourning Cloak in College Park yard, nectaring at horticultural Edgeworthia [2016 Mar 17, MD:  Prince Georges Co]

I don’t usually see Mourning Cloaks nectaring in the spring; sometimes on willow catkins but seldom on actual flowers.  This one was probing the Edgeworthia (also know as Paper Plant) now in full bloom in my yard.  This is the first year I’ve seen them in the neighborhood since the state of Maryland sprayed the community for gypsy moth about 8 years ago.
