The next scheduled WABC field trip will be Saturday, April 23, to areas around Blue Mountain VA in the George R. Thompson Wildlife Management Area.  It’s been a VERY slow spring on the mountain — I spent yesterday at Blue Mountain yesterday and it looked more like mid-March than mid-April — but we’ll venture up weather permitting and see what’s flying.  Target species are an assortment of azures, potential West Virginia whites (they are becoming more scarce here), and the elusive but recorded here early hairstreak.

We’re scheduled from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.; our staging area will be The Apple House restaurant in Linden, VA (Exit 13 off I-66).
