The Lancaster Co. Butterfly and Entomology Club will meet for a count and picnic on Aug. 14:
Sat. August 14, 2010 9:00 am FIELD TRIP & 5:00 pm PICNIC
“Summer Rerun of the Furnace Hills Butterfly Count” followed by the
Club Picnic at 5:00 PM. For the all day enthusiasts we will start at
9:00 AM from Sunfish Pond at Middlecreek Wildlife Management Area. No
fee, but bring plenty of fluids for a hot day of pursuit and hiking in
the field. We will be regrouping at 3:00 PM, at the Middlecreek
visitor’s center, allowing those who want a shorter day of
butterflying to join us. Then relax and cool off at the BYO picnic at
the shady Sunfish Pond picnic area.
You can also see what butterflies have been observed so far (mid-July) in the county in 2010 plus the 2009 list.
Check out the Club’s web page for more info and contact details.
